The Brooding Boltstamper is a hybrid between a Rumblehorn and a Skrill that first appeared in the gameDragons: Titan Uprising.

Physical Appearance[]

Hatchling to Adult[]

Brooding Boltstampers possess the stocky build of a Rumblehorn, while their head and wings have elements of both parental species. Similar to the Skrill, they have sharp, metallic spines running down their backs to their tails. Boltstampers come in colors of golden yellow, green, blue, and red. These base colors may be shaded into another color on the belly, wing fins, or spikes. Their belly plating is always a lighter shade than the rest of the body.

Titan Wing[]

Titan Wing Brooding Boltstampers are larger than Broad Wings and their coloring takes on an iridescent sheen. Otherwise, these hybrids do not undergo a significant change for this life stage.

Abilities[]

Firepower[]

Brooding Boltstampers shoot charged magma missles - balls of magma with electricity coursing around them. This appears to be a blended firepower of the Rumblehorn and Skrill.

Tough Skin[]

Brooding Boltstampers have "reinforced hide", making them resistant to strong attacks and slow to take injury.

Strength[]

The strength of the Brooding Boltstamper is described as "immensely powerful" and "mighty". They are capable of splitting boulders with their nasal horn.

Tracking Skills[]

Brooding Boltstampers inherit the tracking skills of their Rumblehorn lineage, enabling them to track fleeing enemies for miles.

Weaknesses[]

Dragonberry[]

The Brooding Boltstamper inherits the inability to smell dragonberry from its Rumblehorn lineage. If a target is covered in dragonberry juice, a Brooding Boltstamper will be unable to smell it.

Behavior and Personality[]

The behavior of the Brooding Boltstamper can vary widely, but typically falls between those of its parent species. Some tend to favor the Rumblehorn personality, while others favor the Skrill. Most seem to have some level of aggression or quick to jump to offense, with very few exceptions. They can remain focused on battle to the point of becoming dangerously fixated, and some individuals display a thirst for violence, like that which can be seen by many Skrills. They also tend to be dominant, fearless, and confident.

Very few individuals, such as the Chestnut Knight, are behavior outliers - this dragon prefers quiet wild spaces, and has a peaceful demeanor.

Training[]

Although it can be quick to anger, this variety of Boltstamper is good-natured at its core, making it the easiest to train of the Boltstamper breed. Thanks to their more even-keeled Rumblehorn stock, Wild Boltstampers show just how good Skrills could be as training partners, if they could only temper their anger. They possess all of their electrical ancestors' cleverness, resilience, and power — but none of the bloodlust. [src]
  Wild Boltstamper

While Brooding Boltstampers are generally trainable, the ease to do so depends on the individual's behavior. Wild Boltstampers tend to take after the Rumblehorn species, so are easier to train than individuals taking after the Skrill.
