How to Train Your Dragon is a series of children's novels by Cressida Cowell and published by Hodder Children's Books in Britain and Little, Brown and Company in the United States.

The series centers on a young Viking named Hiccup, a member of the Hairy Hooligans. The books follow Hiccup and his friends in their many adventures with dragons.

There are ten novels currently in the series. The first, How to Train Your Dragon, was released in 2003. The most recent, How To Sieze A Dragon's Jewel, was released in 2012.

In addition to the ten books that make up the main series, Cowell has released How to Train Your Viking (2006), which is told from the perspective of Toothless, Hiccup's dragon.
