The Mainland is the name of the giant landmass located in the Eastern Barbaric Archipelago. The majority of the Mainland was composed of the Uglithug Territories. Currently, the Mainland is part of the Kingdom of the Wilderwest.

How to Train Your Dragon
The Mainlands do not appear in this first book of the series, but is mentioned. During the Final Initiation Test on Thor'sday Thursday, a large fight breaks out amongst the initiates' hunting dragons. Only Gobber the Belch's was able to stop them "with a hair-raising, skin-crawling, fang-dropping yell that reverberated off the cliff, bounced off the sea, and whose faint echoes could be heard on the Mainland."
